Kids Yoga

Kids yoga is all about getting children in touch with and excited about their bodies and minds!

 

In my kids yoga classes we do creative movement and work on noticing when our bodies are excited, tired, or tense. We play yoga games, we stretch, we breath and we learn how to slow down our hearts when we are worried or excited. We learn to respect ourselves and others through kind movement and kind intention. 

Countless studies have been done on the benefits of yoga and mindfullness for children. Ultimately yoga gives children a sense of agency - “this is my body, these are my thoughts, they are strong and they are ok". Kids don’t get much 

practice with intra/interpersonal awareness because they spend so much time in front of screens. Physical grounding is empowering, and it feels good!

 

Children love yoga because they love hearing that they are allowed to notice and love every single part of themselves - even the scary and difficult and 

imperfect parts. 

I’ve been working with children for more than a decade, and it is such a joy to teach them mindfulness.

These lessons stay with them for the rest of their lives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I currently teach Kids Yoga in public schools and after school programs around Brooklyn. I have also taught studio classes, small group classes, and one-on-one sessions with children of all ages.
